- Fake it 'til you make it: This expression conveys the idea of acting with confidence, competence, or expertise, even if one does not currently possess those qualities. It suggests that by projecting an air of confidence or competence, individuals can gradually acquire the necessary skills or knowledge to truly succeed or reach their goals.
